In 1993 A. Gorbunov finished technical school 13 in Magnitogorsk having
got a profession of forge-rolling operator of plate and sheet mills. He had
practice in plate and sheet shop 8 of OJC "Magnitogorsk Iron &
Steel Works" ("MMK" in Russian abbreviate).
Since 1993 till 1998 A. Gorbunov has been studying at Magnitogorsk State
Mining-Metallurgical Academy (MGMA in Russian abbreviate) at the technological
faculty, speciality "Metalworking with pressure".
Beginning with the 3-d course of studying at the Academy he has been engaged
in scientific research on the following problem: "Research of deformation
and load of the rolling system of quarto mill". The work was carried out
under the guidance of the associate professor, Candidate of Engineering
Sciences, Boris Omelchenko. The results of the work were used for scientific and
educational purposes at the sub-faculty "Metalworking with pressure".
The senior's project towards engineer's diploma was dedicated to the
optimization of shaping of backup- and work rolls at hot-roll mill 2000 with the
purpose of enhancing resistance of backup- and work rolls and improving the
quality of hot-rolled stock. The results of the research are the part of the
contract scientific research carried out by the sub-faculty of
"Metalworking with pressure" in plate and sheet shop 10 of OJC "Magnitogorsk Iron &
Steel Works". The offered recommendations are
included into the technological instruction that is working up to the present
time.
In 1998 A. Gorbunov graduated from the Academy with distinction and was
rewarded with a honorary diploma for eminent success in studying, scientific
research and active social work.
The same year A. Gorbunov entered the post-graduate study of Magnitogorsk
State Technological University (formerly - Academy). The theme of dissertation
is devoted to the perfecting of production technology of cold-rolled sheet.
In 1998 A. Gorbunov was accepted for a job as an engineer at OJC "Magnitogorsk Iron &
Steel Works" in the laboratory of cold sheet
and belt.
Since 2003 he has been working there as a leading engineer; since -2004 he is
a chief of the laboratory. The purpose of his work is elaboration, perfection
and control of the technology of production of cold-rolled sheet in sheet shop
5. He is engaged in solving problems with consumers of cold-rolled
production of the works.
Since 1998 he has been improving his qualification in the field of production
and management:
- 1998 - the course "Improvement of quality of cold-rolled sheet";
- 1999 - the course "Lubrication of equipment of metallurgical
works";
- 2000-2002 - further training in the speciality "Production
management";
- 1999-2002 - International Institute of Management "LINK", Open
University.
A. Gorbunov is the author and co-author of several research works, reports,
articles and technological developments. He is responsible for preparation of
the new technological instruction "Acceptance, storage, preparation and
application of emulsion in rolling at 2-stand reversing mill of cold
rolling".
A. Gorbunov has been taking part in scientific conferences and competitions
of young managers at the works having rewarded certificates and ranked one of
the highest.
